5G Services in India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 5G telephony services in the country, ushering in an era of ultra-high-speed internet on mobile phones. The Prime Minister launched the 5G services in select cities at the IMC 2022 conference. The services will progressively cover the entire country over the next couple of years.
Further, the Indian government on December 14, 2022, Wednesday told the Lok Sabha that 5G services have started in 50 towns across 14 states/UTs. As many as 33 towns out of the 50 where 5G services have started are in Gujarat. The list includes three towns from Maharashtra and two each from West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
