Bharathiyar History in Tamil
Subramania Bharathiar is a famous Tamil poet who wrote many famous poems on freedom. Bharti was a pioneer of modern Tamil poetry with his excellent knowledge of Tamil poetry and prose. He has written poems and articles on Tamil, Tamil welfare, Indian liberation, women’s liberation, rejection of caste, and various religions.
Through his writings, he instilled a sense of liberation in the minds of people. King Etappa Nayakkar bestowed the title of Bharathi, which means Mechi and Kalaimamala, for her poetic prowess. Bharatiyar’s books were nationalized by the Tamil Nadu state government in 1949. Bharatiyar was the first nationalized literature in India.
