Bsp Thread Chart

British Standard Pipe (BSP) thread is a standard thread type used extensively across the globe for plumbing connections (but not in North America). The standard defines the number of threads per inch (pitch) as well as the angle to which each thread is engineered.

British Pipe Standard fittings are amongst the most popular of all foreign threads in the world
today. These threads come in two versions: parallel (BSPP) and tapered (BSPT). The thread
flank angle for both tapered and parallel British threads is 55°.

BSP THREAD CHART

BSP is the abbreviation for British Standard Pipe. The thread, as defined by the ISO 228 standard, uses Whitworth standard threads, and is among a number of technical standards for screw threads that have been adopted internationally for interconnecting and sealing pipes and fittings.

To confirm that you do actually have a BSP fitting, count the number of threads on the fitting per inch. You can do this most easily by taking a specified length, such as ½” (0.5 inches), and multiplying it by 2. So if you count 6 thread crests over ½”, that means you have 12 threads per inch.
