Clarinet Fingering Chart
In this post, we’ve shared a list of all available fingering charts for Boehm-, Albert- and Oehler-system clarinets and kinder clarinets. Boehm-system clarinets are widely used in bands and orchestras, although Ohler- and Albert-system clarinets are more commonly used in some regions of Central Europe.
The fingerings generally apply to all sizes (soprano, alto, bass, and contrabass) of clarinets unless specified otherwise. Each fingering chart is split up by registers, whose ranges are notated and clickable. Trills are arranged in order by the lower, principal note.
Clarinets A and B
Although A Clarinet is 1 cm longer, the two Clarinet do not look much different from each other. However, the instruments produce different tones – A is the root tone of the scale for the clarinet, while B♠is the root tone of the scale for the B clarinet.
The Musical Score for the Clarinet
When a musical score reading C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C for clarinet is played on an A clarinet, the actual notes played will be A, B, C♯, D, E, F♯, G♯, A, whereas if the same score is played on a Bâ™ clarinet, the actual notes played will be Bâ™, C, D, Eâ™, F, G, A, Bâ™.
