DASS 21
The Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS-21) questionnaire is a validated instrument that rates these 3 dimensions of mental health in adults (patients and non-patients) on a single, clear, and systematic scale.
The scores for each scale are summed (D = depression, A = anxiety, S = stress), and the total for each scale is multiplied by 2. The DASS can reliably screen for depressive symptoms in people seeking treatment for AOD use [470]. Similarly, another study showed that the DASS can be used as a reliable screen for PTSD symptoms in people with AOD use disorders.
Here we have shared the table to interpret DASS Scores.
Level | Depression | Anxiety | Stress |
---|---|---|---|
Normal | 0-9 | 0-7 | 0-14 |
Mild | 10-13 | 8-9 | 15-19 |
Moderate | 14-20 | 10-14 | 19-25 |
Severe | 21-27 | 15-19 | 26-33 |
Extremely severe | 28+ | 20+ | 34+ |
