West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) conducts the WBTET in order to determine the eligibility of candidates to teach in schools in West Bengal. The West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test (WB TET) is a state-level exam conducted as per National Council for Teachers’ Education (NCTE) guidelines.
WB TET exam is conducted for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both papers comprise 150 multiple-choice questions which candidates need to attempt in 2 hours and 30 minutes duration. WB TET Paper 1 is for candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 5 (Primary Teachers) and Paper 2 is for Upper Primary Teachers who want to teach Classes 6 to 8. Candidates who qualify for the WB TET exam get selected to fill vacancies in teaching posts in West Bengal.
